The first recorded case of cancer was in Egypt, 1500 BC.
Very specific symptoms were recorded in hieroglyphs (on papyrus)
Hippocrates later coined the name cancer because he thought the tumors were reminiscent of a crab.

Millions of years ago. More like hundreds of millions. Before humans existed.

And there are many different kinds of cancers, so they arose at different times – I don’t know when.

Some caused by viruses, many caused by healthy cells that malfunction.
