video game addiction?

Question by Queen Of Spades–>: video game addiction?
Ok so my little brother *brother-in-law anyways* that’s 18 is literally full on addicted to video games to the point where if we take them he’ll just stay up in his room and do nothing. Its seriously like he’s on drugs. He isn’t graduating this year and hasn’t been to his job in a while from it and his parents don’t know what to do to. Anyone out there having this serious of a problem with a close friend/ family member? Is there a ‘rehab’ (for lack of a better word) for this kind of thing?

***This is not intended to bag on video games or gamers- I am just very concerned for my brother because this is not healthy behavior***

People only get addicted to things when their lives are not fulfilling enough to make them happy. Unfortunately this is really hard to fix, especially when real life is almost never as fun as games. There are starting to be rehab centers for this sort of thing. http://articles.nydailynews.com/2009-08-21/entertainment/17931388_1_addicts-restart-online-video-game But what he really needs is something good and fulfilling in his life to make him not feel the need for video games anymore.
