Quitting Afrin nasal spray cold turkey?

Question by Jessica: Quitting Afrin nasal spray cold turkey?
How can I do this? Also how long will it take for my nose to go back to normal? PLEASE I NEED HELP…I know it sounds strange but I know i’m not alone in this. I”m 5 weeks pregnant and I want to stop for my baby’s sake. I’m sure it won’t hurt the baby but i really don’t want to take any chances. So all of you who have been through nasal spray addiction before please give me your advice on how to quit.

you just have to stop. I would also recommend getting and using a netty pot to wash your sinuses out.

I have been through nasal spray addiction so I know how you feel. Quitting cold turkey is hard. I couldn’t do it. I went to an Ear Nose and Throat doctor and with one treatment I was over it. He gave me a shot in each nostril (it’s not as bad as it sounds) and after that I didn’t feel the need for OTC nasal spray. You’re not alone but you should consult a physician as long term addiction can eat away your nasal cavity. Good luck.
