Question by Big man: how do I become an addiction counselor?
I am interested in becoming an addiction counselor in Ontario Canada. I have no experience, besides having drug problems (attented 3 week rehab program 2 years ago). What is the best path to start – Volunteering, training, etc

the rehab you went to is a good place to start. sometimes they will let you lead a group. there are classes in psychology that should be required. many times counselors come from treatment. you have the most important requirement–experience in the battlefield.
