my friend has a shopping addiction in result to her addiction she is 1500 dollars backed up on her rent and is and will lose her section 8 voucher, she has a 13 year old child that she love very much , well i guess my question is can a person get there children taken away from them because of a shopping addiction?

If they spend enough money on clothes or what have you, so much much that they don’t have enough money to buy food or pay the rent. This could be considered neglecting the child and even putting her into harm. If it gets really bad, to the point where she is homeless and can’t afford money for her daughter to eat. Then conceivably she could be taken away from her.
